Upon arrival in Houston, please take a taxi or Uber/Lyft to your hotel or Rice campus. We do not recommend public transportation.

All talks, poster sessions and the Welcome Reception will be held at the Anderson-Clarke Center home of the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies. Conference registration/check-in will also be held in this building.

Directions

While the university address is 6100 Main St, this is not the location of the conference, do not go to this address.

Please tell your driver to go to Rice University Entrance #8 at the intersection of University Boulevard and Stockton Drive. Turn in at this entrance and the Anderson-Clarke Center building is the second on your left with the small green lawn and sphere figures in front.

Take your very next left and you may park in the 15-minute spots located directly behind the building or pull into the circle drive on your left next to the building. Please walk through the front double doors to our first floor reception area to pick up your name badge and officially check-into the conference.

On-Campus Housing

If arriving in Houston between 3pm and 7pm on Sunday May 21, you will check in at the Anderson-Clarke Center and receive your keys and directions to your room. After picking up your name badge, please go to the table for on-campus housing check-in.

If arriving after 7pm on Sunday May 21, please call the Rice Housing & Dining Department directly at +1 832-819-9929 or +1 832-819-9739 at least 15 minutes before arriving on campus. They will give directions to the Rice Housing & Dining Office at 6350 Main Street where you will be given your keys and directions to your room. 

Poster Session Information

Please check the program schedule on the website for your assigned poster sessions. Please note, if you made recent change requests they may not be reflected online but have been recorded, if you are unsure please ask questions upon check-in at the Anderson-Clarke Center.  

On your assigned poster session day, you may attach your poster to the boards during the coffee breaks or lunch break. Push pins will be provided. 

Things to do in Houston

Houston is a great city, with many local restaurants and attractions.

Rice Village is walking distance from campus and features more than 300 shops in the immediate 16-block area, Rice Village is known for its small and eclectic shops and boutiques. Rice Village is also home to some of the best and most varied places to eat in Houston, featuring Italian, French, Indian, Mediterranean, Spanish, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese restaurants.

The Houston Zoo as well as Herman Park are a short 15 min taxi or Uber ride away. These are great attractions to see if you are not planning to go on the trip to NASA.
